We are proud to celebrate our continued partnership with NAWS China Lake and the positive impact it has on our students and schools. Impact Aid is a federal education program that helps SSUSD offset funding lost due to the presence of large, non‑taxable federal property—like the base—by reimbursing districts for educating federally connected students.
Thanks to this strong partnership and the dedicated work of School Liaison Jessie Vazquez and Administrative Secretary Melissa Naslund, our Impact Aid submission reflected a 10% increase in qualifying forms compared to last year. This increase will directly support much‑needed resources for our students districtwide.
We’re especially grateful to our families and school staff, who embraced a shift back to paper forms and ensured every eligible student was counted. Thank you to everyone who plays a role in supporting our schools.
